Extended Care and Punch Cards

MCPK’s Extended Care program is truly an extension of the Full-Day School program in both quality and structure. This educational program is run by qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic teachers who receive training alongside teachers from our Full-Day School Program. Teachers create lesson plans that follow the needs and interests of their students, while also providing plenty of unstructured and outdoor play time. Sensitive to the long hours of the Extended Care Program, teachers also make sure to include quiet time and read with children in small groups.

  • MCPK has five Extended Care classrooms, with 16 students in the 3-year old rooms and 20 students in the 4/5-year old rooms.
  • Dual-Language Immersion Extended Care is offered as an option.
  • Students receive at least one After School Enrichment class per cycle at no extra cost to the family. Typical offerings include Spanish, science, and creative movement).
  • Morning Extended Care is offered from 7:00am - 8:30am and Afternoon Extended Care is offered from 2:30pm - 6:00pm.*
  • Parents must register separately for Extended Care and can opt for the morning session, the afternoon session, or both.
  • Families registering a child for Extended Care once the school year has started must provide one week’s notice.
  • There is a charge of $1.00 per minute for any child picked up after 6:00pm*. Participation can be suspended or terminated if the lateness becomes a continual practice.
  • MCPK also offers extended care on an occasional/emergency basis through the use of our punchcard system.

* For the 2021-2022 school year, extended care will end at 6:00 pm.

* Punch cards are currently not available for the 2021-2022 school year.
